Take part in the Surfrider "Eco Challenge"
If you love the ocean, the sand and the surf – and you want to keep all these clean, be part of the Surfrider “Eco Challenge.”
The event is said to be bigger, cleaner and greener than ever. Plus, it will be a lot more fun. It is also an opportunity to take part in a large fund raising effort.
Feel free to take your family with you.
Expect Yoga on the Beach, a slew of Eco Markets, a Surfing and Skate Competition, enlightening Public Speakers who will share all things Green and Sustainable.
Various stalls will be available to show and sell products that are sustainable and green. All these are in line with Surfrider’s “Rise Above Plastics” campaign. Also, hand-crafted gorgeous soaps, vinaigrettes, spices, solar displays and horticultural alternatives abound.
Stalls from Fight for the Reef and Sea Shepherd will be seen. Kids need not feel left out as craft workshops, face painting, races and storytelling are available for them to participate in.
By lunchtime, a drum workshop will start after the Public Speaking session as well as the performance of four live local bands. Anyone and everyone can attend the drum workshop regardless of age and skill level.
DubArray, Lyall Moloney, Kin Caboose, and Matt Taylor will again be performing for everyone’s entertainment.
The Belly Dance and Drum Group, Malfoufs Nomadic Soul Drummers will also appear.
The Surfrider Eco Challenge will take place on November 9, 2014, from 700am to 530pm at Tickle Park at Coolum Beach Sunshine Coast, David Low Way. It is a short drive from our Sunshine Coast Holiday Apartments.
